Publications Exhorting Morality
Morality through Phoenix Books
Publishing phoenix books is a revered responsibility of phoenix halls. Also called morality books, they feature rich and varied content and range of topics. Divinely inspired, the all-encompassing books encourage morality among the public and discuss one’s practice.
The Four Books of Exhortation
Publishing phoenix books is a revered responsibility of phoenix halls. During the late Qing Dynasty all phoenix halls in Yilan were busy producing books. Taiwan’s earliest phoenix books were published in Yilan and included Xingshi Hall’s Golden Folio of Moral Records, Xinmin Hall’s Cautionary Text, Weixingqi’s Hexingwen, and Jianmin Hall’s Hualan Encyclopedia. |
